How To Brew is a documentary that follows Ian McGuinness on his quest to create his dream job, opening a brewery in Portland Oregon. Proclaimed Beertown by former Mayor Tom Potter, the city of Portland has the highest number of breweries per capita in the United States. Opening a brewery must be easy!
How To Brew will illustrate the craft of zymurgy through the passion and tenacity of those absorbed in the culture of brewing and how difficult the business truly is behind the doors of breweries everywhere.

Some of you may have seen Beervana, a short OPB documentary about the history of brewing in Oregon. I'm looking to expand upon and update the modern history of brewing in Oregon as well as investigate the newest brewery additions and ask what makes this beverage field an art form.
Small brewery businesses are popping up everywhere; Beervana breeds brewpubs, nanobreweries, microbreweries, homebrewers galore and world renowned breweries. The research is immense and i need to hire a researcher to properly cover as many aspects of interest as possible.
Beer Drenched History
The people of Portland are absorbed with beer as a way of life. Well crafted beers are becoming more appreciated by connoisseurs and the zymurgists are flourishing. Homebrewing has been adopted as a lifestyle with a brilliant heritage gladly shared throughout the community. Help me keep the tools and time to make this piece of history available to everyone.
